Humble Beginning

This is where it all begins, Orpheus Dive began her operations in the midst of chaos in 2001 SARs, uncertainty in the south province of Thailand, bird flu… .... With a strong goal in mind, to be the most established dive centre in Singapore,

Orpheus Dive Centre suffered the impossible and grew stronger by the year. By the end of the first year, Orpheus Dive Centre had a total of 5 PADI Instructors and 10 PADI Divemasters, dedicated to serving the community. Among them, Benjamin and Janice, two of the very loyal helped Orpheus Dive grew rapidly during this period of time.

Constantly re-inventing our services and teaching methods, we attracted divers who are keen in learning diving and many divers have since joined us as PADI Dive Professionals, leading an alternate lifestyle.

The first shop was a very small place in 184A Telok Ayer Street. This was the place and home to many friends and dive pros. As small as it was, it was fun, cosy and many great friendship and memories was bonded right here.

Re-Writting The Story

In 2005, Orpheus Dive achieved their PADI 5 Star rating and secured the distribution and retail rights of major diving brands such as Gul Japan, Gull, Seac Sub, Apollo, Scubapro, ProBlue and many other international brands.

Orpheus Dive - PADI 5 Star Dive Center, a membership awarded to progressive PADI Dive Centers that excel in providing dive consumers with a full range of diver education programs, equipment selection, and experience opportunities and that actively promote aquatic environmental awareness.

During this period, Orpheus Dive saw a few good instructors trained from Rescue Diver to Instructor. Mainly, Alywin Lam, Cassie Chia, Juliana Khoo, William King, Lam Pei Min, Foong Wai Yin joined the team during this period and carried on building the dive company throughout 2005 to 2009. Without some of them such as Pei Min and Wai Yin, Orpheus Dive would not have grown and would not have seen the possibility of our next chapter.

The Growth

Orpheus Dive has been active in Singapore, constantly presenting a professional image consistent with, or better than, the norm of the marketplace. Embracing the PADI System of diver education, Orpheus Dive Centre is committed to providing customers with quality products, services and experiences.

In 2008, Andy Skarda and wife, Karla Skarda, Pei Min, Wai Yin, Calvin, Wen Seang, Suresh, Chris and many others helped us achieve an impossible dream. The dream of expansion of the dive shop to something that I can only dream of. This dream was made possible by them.

However, the growth was eventually hurt by various factors.

Beyond

Diving is one aspect of an enriched lifestyle. Over the years, we did nothing but diving. As the company matured, so did the company and we are not just inspired by the material needs of a dive company. In the next couple of months, we will be expanding our business into Yoga training, Yoga Retail, Retreat Programs, Pilates and Spiritual Guidance.

Our new motto is has changed, our visions has changed. No longer just fun inspired. We are here to help you rediscover yourself.

Jaded Dive Pros

This is the original team that helped Orpheus Dive build their dive profile up from 2000 to 2008. Each of them are now on their own, still diving we believe. So see you guys out there sometime in the sea :)
