Azman Sulaiman is one
of the few PADI Course Directors in Asia
who graduated at PADI Headquarter in
California. He’s also the first
and only native Malay Course Director
in the world. Azman started diving in
the late 80’s during his teenage
years on the west coast of Malaysia.
Azman turned professional
twelve years ago. Since then he has been
involved in many different roles within
the diving industry both locally and
internationally.
Today, as a PADI Course
Director, General Manager and the Training
Director in one of the most successful
PADI Instructor Development Center in
Malaysia, Azman has a lot to share during
your PADI Gopro and IDC programs with
him.

Lester is the
founder of Orpheus Singapore. Armed
with nothing more than a vision,
he started Orpheus Dive in Telok
Ayer.
Believing that
diving is fun and providing quality
training to dive professionals
are a important
process, he set out to train a
group of fun and professional
dive instructors.
Today, Lester
is only concentrating on the expansion
of Orpheus Dive to other regions
of Asia and also his new found
love, underwater photography.
Still, he maintains
a keen interest in diving education
and is currently co-authoring PADI
Distictive Specialities.

The Queen of
our King (not William King, the
real Azman King). Juju has years
of experience assisting Azman with
his PADI Instructor Development
Programs.
This lady can
speak fluent Korean, Japanese,
Malay and English. She has even
done some translation work for
PADI during CDTC.
She is currently
based in Flora Bay Divers, located
in Perhentian Islands, and soon
to be a mother :)

been in the business for nearly
6 years fulltime and another
4 years as a part-time divemaster,
Lester has learned alot.
Diving business
is a very tricky business. With
all the dive centres in Singapore
selling the same PADI courses,
what makes Orpheus Dive uniquely
special and what is so special
about Orpheus Dive training standards?
- Orpheus
Dive has the crew to
thank for. Most of Orpheus
Dive team has three common
virtue. Fun, sincerity in imparting
knowledge to divers and lastly,
patience.

Dive Singapore is the only
dive centre in Singapore who
is constantly upgrading their
training facility and style
of teaching, by incorporating
new media with the existing
PADI training standards.

Kelvin joined Orpheus from
PADI Advanced Open Water and
graduated in 2003 as a PADI
Scuba Instructor.
He is currently

In May 2004,
Ben graduated from IDC and rose
to the ranks of a PADI Scuba Instructor,
joining his fellow mentor, Ben
is currently teaching diving for
us.
Ben
is the little brother of Lester.
In 2005, together with Lester and
Janice, he assisted the growth
of Orpheus Dive.
Despite
being a young chap, Ben matured
to become
a very independent instructor.
He
will be leaving Orpheus Dive
in 2007 to pursue a degree for
3 years in Australia on Marine
Science and Biology.
Ben's
personal interest is running
a resort dive business. |

Pei Min

Ah Min joined Orpheus
Dive in 2005. Over the
months, this shy little
girl has shown more strength
and enthusiasm than her
little frame can carry.
Always eager to learn and
help, she is always there
to lend a helping hand
to divers in need.
Peimin,
aka blur blur,
small girl etc. This little
girl
has earned herself thousand
and one nick names given
to
her
by the
many divers that she has
trained.
But
one thing all divers will
agree is that, she is always
there to ensure the safety
of each diver.
Not
an exceptionally fast learner,
Min has picked up the ropes
from her mentor, Lester,
in running the dive business.
She
is the "email" girl
and
"accounts" lady,
ensuring that Orpheus Dive
is not
losing money because of
all the passionate instructors
wanting to teach for free.
Peimin
is always hungry for dive
travel, having dived at
some of the most exotic
diving destinations in
Asia from Sipadan to Bali
to Thailand. |

Being
softspoken
and detailed in giving instructions
is Janice's virtue. Always ensuring
that students receive proper
dive education, Janice is on
a constant struggle in teaching
a time constraint environment.
But nevertheless,
many divers have sung praises
of her.
In
2005, she certified more than
100 students in all level of
PADI Courses. Together with Lester, Janice
has taken a back seat, concentrating
on assisting Lester in Orpheus
Dive expansion. |

tomboy when she first joined
Orpheus Dive, Wai Yin grew
to become a hot time favourite
among divers.
Wai Yin
by nature is a very patient
and forgiving person and she
applies her virtue to teaching,
ensuring that students receive
the most from training.

Yin had never once disappointed
Orpheus Dive and customers.
Wai Yin
has always been there for Orpheus
Dive and is always ready to

Wen Seang, Mr Chu is the latest addition to Orpheus Dive Team. Graduated as a PADI Instructor in 2006, this young chap has personal interest in challenging activities from wreck to tech diving.
For all wreck enthusiast, speak to Wen about wreck diving and we bet he is gonna to tell you the best wreck story about how he saved a diver who was lost in the wreck and despite the fact that he has very limited air left, he took the responsiblilty of rescuing a distress male diver. |

The
sarong party girl of Orpheus
Dive. Not that she is really
a SPG, just that Mei Ling
is always seen walking
around in that smelly infamous
sarong of hers.
Mei
Ling is a strong conversationalist
and a very vocal instructor.
She
joined Orpheus Dive as
an Instructor in 2005 because
her hubby conned her into
it, fooling her that he
will learn diving if she
ever becomes an Instructor.
Mei
Ling is one Instructor
that is systematic. Once
she has mastered something,
it takes her a while before
she wants to advance.
Not that she is lazy, her
attitude is "If I am
good at doing what
I am doing now, why upgrade?
Later lar!".
If
you have any friends who
are eager to learn more
during their Open Water
Diver course, she is the
best Instructor, cuz that
is the only course she
is really good at teaching

Aylwin,
the gadget boy of Orpheus
Dive. Always having the

This
little charmer is an overly
high achiever.
Aylwin
is always picking on Peimin,
telling her how stupid
she is. Not that he hates
Peimin, Aylwin just has
a soft spot for people
and always want people
to excel and become better
in what they are doing.

this attitude, he is always
sharing his experience
with new divers on how

Orpheus

another dedicated team of 24 Divemasters serving
our diving community. Orpheus Dive Team is made
up of dive professionals who are dedicated to diving
and firm believers of the importance of quality
instructions and the benefits of continuing education.
Within a short time span of
less than 3 years, hand in hand with the best Course
Director in Malaysia, we have trained more than 17
Instructors, some whom have since moved on to teaching
for other dive centres. Following the same philosophy

is our favourite crew. Why? We always
get presents from him. This strange
single guy is from a planet call "Cannot
be".
He is so nice
to everyone, including fishes (cuz
he DOES NOT EAT seafood), it is almost
impossible.
Never frowning,
never swearing, never losing his cool.
Jason is known
to go that extra mile for everyone.
Nothing is too
much for him. If he sees an old lady
crossing the road while he is driving,
we are sure that he will stop the car,
get out, help the poor lady and holding
up the entire traffic just to help
others.
In terms of diving,
Jason is always to share what he has,
that includes if you want to borrow
his diving equipment.
On any trip, even
if you want to hijack his regulator,
he will glady give it to you and start
diving with a 30 metres garden hose
