Lester is the founder of Orpheus Singapore. Armed with nothing more than a vision, he started Orpheus Dive in Telok Ayer.

Believing that diving is fun and providing quality training to dive professionals are a important process, he set out to train a group of fun and professional dive instructors.

Today, Lester is only concentrating on the expansion of Orpheus Dive to other regions of Asia and also his new found love, underwater photography.

Still, he maintains a keen interest in diving education and is currently co-authoring PADI Distictive Specialities.

Having been in the business for nearly 6 years fulltime and another 4 years as a part-time divemaster, Lester has learned alot.

Diving business is a very tricky business. With all the dive centres in Singapore selling the same PADI courses, what makes Orpheus Dive uniquely special and what is so special about Orpheus Dive training standards?

1. Orpheus Dive has the crew to thank for. Most of Orpheus Dive team has three common virtue. Fun, sincerity in imparting knowledge to divers and lastly, patience.
   
   
2. Orpheus Dive Singapore is the only dive centre in Singapore who is constantly upgrading their training facility and style of teaching, by incorporating new media with the existing PADI training standards.

Change is a very important part in any business. Keep pace with changes and understanding customers needs is a crucial factor that fueled the growth of Orpheus Dive.

The Queen of our King (not William King, the real Azman King). Juju has years of experience assisting Azman with his PADI Instructor Development Programs.

This lady can speak fluent Korean, Japanese, Malay and English. She has even done some translation work for PADI during CDTC.

She is currently based in Flora Bay Divers, located in Perhentian Islands, and soon to be a mother :)

The Chief Editor of Orpheus Dive and the most "vocal" instructor. Kelvin joined Orpheus from PADI Advanced Open Water and graduated in 2003 as a PADI Scuba Instructor.

He is currently working at Mediacorp.

In May 2004, Ben graduated from IDC and rose to the ranks of a PADI Scuba Instructor, joining his fellow mentor, Ben is currently teaching diving for us.

Ben is the little brother of Lester. In 2005, together with Lester and Janice, he assisted the growth of Orpheus Dive.

Despite being a young chap, Ben matured to become a very independent instructor.

He will be leaving Orpheus Dive in 2007 to pursue a degree for 3 years in Australia on Marine Science and Biology.

Ben's personal interest is running a resort dive business.

Ah Min joined Orpheus Dive in 2005. Over the months, this shy little girl has shown more strength and enthusiasm than her little frame can carry. Always eager to learn and help, she is always there to lend a helping hand to divers in need.

Peimin, aka blur blur, small girl etc. This little girl has earned herself thousand and one nick names given to her by the many divers that she has trained.

But one thing all divers will agree is that, she is always there to ensure the safety of each diver.

Not an exceptionally fast learner, Min has picked up the ropes from her mentor, Lester, in running the dive business.

She is the "email" girl and "accounts" lady, ensuring that Orpheus Dive is not losing money because of all the passionate instructors wanting to teach for free.

Peimin is always hungry for dive travel, having dived at some of the most exotic diving destinations in Asia from Sipadan to Bali to Thailand.

Geof was trained as a Open Water Diver with Orpheus Dive in 2001. Upon graduating as a PADI Instructor, Geof has been actively teaching for a local dive centre here in Singapore.

He has sinced joined back the family of Orpheus Dive Professional

Janice rose to the ranks of a PADI Scuba Instructor in May 2004. She is currently helping Orpheus Dive train new Open Water Students weekly.

Being softspoken and detailed in giving instructions is Janice's virtue. Always ensuring that students receive proper dive education, Janice is on a constant struggle in teaching a time constraint environment.

But nevertheless, many divers have sung praises of her.

In 2005, she certified more than 100 students in all level of PADI Courses.

Together with Lester, Janice has taken a back seat, concentrating on assisting Lester in Orpheus Dive expansion.

Wai Yin, together with 6 other Instructors joined the family of PADI in Dec 2005.

A tomboy when she first joined Orpheus Dive, Wai Yin grew to become a hot time favourite among divers.

Wai Yin by nature is a very patient and forgiving person and she applies her virtue to teaching, ensuring that students receive the most from training.

Always hunger for perfection, Wai Yin had never once disappointed Orpheus Dive and customers.

Wai Yin has always been there for Orpheus Dive and is always ready to lend a helping hand.

Quickly, Wai Yin has learned the ropes of the diving industry and has since been contributing to the success of Orpheus Dive

This HUGE ANG MOH graduated from Pulau Hantu. While doing the course, he told us HOW MUCH HE LOVES DIVING IN HANTU and we thought he was mad. Crazy guy went on to sign up for Dayang and further continuing education.

After diving one year, Andy went on to become a PADI Instructor

Andy is a joy to dive with. Even though his appearance might tell you otherwise, deep under this Shrek, is a kind gentle soul.

Very eager to help and always ready to share his diving experience.

Karla, wife of Andy, mother of Orpheus Dive crew. Together with Andy, she joined us in early 2006.

Unwilling to dive initially, Andy "tricked" her into diving in Australia by enrolling her into a PADI Discover Scuba Diving program.

Andy is a joy to dive with. Even though his appearance might tell you otherwise, deep under this Shrek, is a kind gentle soul.

Wen Seang, Mr Chu is the latest addition to Orpheus Dive Team. Graduated as a PADI Instructor in 2006, this young chap has personal interest in challenging activities from wreck to tech diving.

For all wreck enthusiast, speak to Wen about wreck diving and we bet he is gonna to tell you the best wreck story about how he saved a diver who was lost in the wreck and despite the fact that he has very limited air left, he took the responsiblilty of rescuing a distress male diver.

Wen Seang was trained by Orpheus Dive from PADI Open Water Diver to PADI Instructor.

With specialties such as EANx and Deep Diving, Wen is inspired to become an outstanding instructor.

He will be joining us officially in 2007.

Together wtih Pei Min, Aylwin joined Orpheus Dive earlier in 2005 for his PADI Divemaster course.

Underwater photography has been his strongest interest in diving. Very passionate towards marine lifes, ask him for his underwater photo collections, you will be more than amazed.

Aylwin, the gadget boy of Orpheus Dive. Always having the latest dive toy, latest camera, latest everything.

This little charmer is an overly high achiever.

Aylwin is always picking on Peimin, telling her how stupid she is. Not that he hates Peimin, Aylwin just has a soft spot for people and always want people to excel and become better in what they are doing.

With this attitude, he is always sharing his experience with new divers on how they can improve in their diving skills. A plus point for an Instructor.

Mei Ling began diving with Lester when he was still a PADI Divemaster. Both of them have come a long way.

As a matter of fact, Mei Ling has been a strong contributor to Orpheus Dive.

But you will hardly see her on trips as dive crew. She is a leisure diver most of the time :)

The sarong party girl of Orpheus Dive. Not that she is really a SPG, just that Mei Ling is always seen walking around in that smelly infamous sarong of hers.

Mei Ling is a strong conversationalist and a very vocal instructor.

She joined Orpheus Dive as an Instructor in 2005 because her hubby conned her into it, fooling her that he will learn diving if she ever becomes an Instructor.

Mei Ling is one Instructor that is systematic. Once she has mastered something, it takes her a while before she wants to advance. Not that she is lazy, her attitude is "If I am good at doing what I am doing now, why upgrade? Later lar!".

If you have any friends who are eager to learn more during their Open Water Diver course, she is the best Instructor, cuz that is the only course she is really good at teaching for the time being :)

Jason, gentle on the outside, knowledgeable in the inside.

Jason is very much an extinct guy. Still single, rich, NOT GAY for sure, humble, willing to assist. He also has diving luck. With him, sightings of Manta Ray increases by 50% :)

Jason is our favourite crew. Why? We always get presents from him. This strange single guy is from a planet call "Cannot be".

He is so nice to everyone, including fishes (cuz he DOES NOT EAT seafood), it is almost impossible.

Never frowning, never swearing, never losing his cool.

Jason is known to go that extra mile for everyone.

Nothing is too much for him. If he sees an old lady crossing the road while he is driving, we are sure that he will stop the car, get out, help the poor lady and holding up the entire traffic just to help others.

In terms of diving, Jason is always to share what he has, that includes if you want to borrow his diving equipment.

On any trip, even if you want to hijack his regulator, he will glady give it to you and start diving with a 30 metres garden hose himself.

Lawrence, one of the born leaders in his group. Lawrence is one of the humble crew that we have, Always willing to lend a helping hand and always willing to listen.

Ask him about his knowledge in Bahasa Indonesia, he has an interesting story to tell you guys.

Another big man with big heart. This sweaty guy is always trying his best to ensure our divers are relaxing.

Always ready to joke, he is our main entertainer.

Never try talking rubbish to this guy as he can go on and on with other junk, thinking that you enjoy talking garbage.

Lawrence is very accommodating, always willing to stand down to divers, giving them what they need.

The little ah-beng, also another diver from our Combo trip, Jia Xing too was addicted to diving. For those diving with him, you will be amazed with his underwater navigation skills. Just ask him about the 55 fin cycle navigation during his course.

Gladwin is our only dive professional that is trained by both PADI and GUE.

If you ever need anything, ask him for it. He probably has something for everyone

John is a very slow moving person. Not because he is a big man, but a man with a BIG heart and he knows how to enjoy himself by watching at the smallest thing in life.

Nothing goes by this guy without him noticing. John is a very strong photographer, always ready to snap a picture at the right moment.

John amaze divers when he share his knowledge on diving and photography.

Something that seem so difficult, sounds SO EASY when he explains it in his gentle voice.

A very detailed person, John is always ready to capture your Kodak moment for you.

Lloyd, another underwater photography siao. Lloyd is one of our senior crew in Orpheus Dive.

Lloyd, always asking if he can do this and that!

Yes you can Lloyd and YES you are most welcome.

This soft spoken crew of ours is always ready to charm divers with his million dollar smile.

Lloyd join us during his Advanced Open Water diver days and Lester was his Instructor.

While conducting PPB for Lloyd, Lester noticed that this young chap learns thing by watching. Very attentive person in water.

Today, Lloyd is one of our most active crew. Reason? Cuz we adore him and he is the most attentive crew, always paying attention to the needs of our divers.

An avid photographer, he is our camera man for all trips. This is the only picture that we have of this guy.

Lionel is another proud divemaster we have taught. He is the first PADI Master Scuba Diver among Orpheus Dive Team

Lionel also has indepth knowledge on marine life, he has a library of fish books in his house.

Lionel's desire to learn more never fail to amaze us. Not that he is a paper chaser, Lionel loves to learn and share.

To him, teaching is a way of learning. When he shares, he shares everything that he knows.

Never holding back to any of his gain knowledge, Lionel is a DOT ORG, non profit organisation body

Yikai, another avid photographer divemaster that we have.

This guy cannot hold his alcohol. SO NEVER ask him to drink with you. An avid swimmer, Ivan enjoys a good workout and is the latest addition to our Orpheus Dive Team. Ocasionally game for a good game of pool as well. 9 ball anyone?

Also known as fish-o-fish. Wan Ling enjoys not only diving but any other activity that makes her sweat :) She is also a PADI Master Scuba Diver.

Wan Ling is one of the Divemasters who are well travelled. She is really not the PR type of Divemaster but starting asking her about diving and she will open up.
