Fancy living an alternate lifestlye as a PADI Professional? Waking up to the morning sun and sea breeze? Your office need not be a small cubicle anymore.
The PADI Divemaster Course consists of 3 training categories. Water and Skill Stamina, Knowledge Development and Internship. Upon completing all the categories, you earn your status as a PADI Divemaster and an opportunity of finding yourself working in paradise.
Your adventure towards the first professional level of recreational diving begins here, with the few PADI 5 Star IDC Centres in Singapore, to achieve the PADI Divemaster rating. Working closely with our PADI Instructors, they will mentor you and help you expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills to the professional level.
PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.
During the PADI Divemaster program, you learn dive leadership skills through both classroom and independent study. You complete water skills and stamina exercises, as well as training exercises that stretch your ability to organize and solve problems. You put this knowledge into action through an internship or series of practical training exercises.

Knowledge Development Session |
15 modules of academic session to develop your knowledge needed for dive professional development. These 15 modules are usually conducted over 7 theory sessions lasting for 3 hours each.
As this course is conducted in the city for working professionals who are working towards an alternate lifestyle, we know how important your work is. Rather than enforcing a fixed training schedule, we will work out a flexible schedule with candidates from each batch of PADI Divemaster trainees.
Every week, we will check with the candidates their schedule for the following week when arranging for the next class. |
| |
|
 |
Skills Development Session |
| A total of 21 hours is needed to prepare a candidate for his role and duties as a PADI Divemaster. This is done over 7 pool sessions of 3 hours each.
During the skills development process, candidates will be taught how to perform and demonstrate skills beyond that of an Open Water Diver. Candidates will be taught how to demonstrate skills at Instructor level.
During the pool session, candidates will also be evaluated on their four required water stamina test - 100 metres tired diver tow, 400 metres swim test, 15 minutes water treading and 800 metres snorkel-swim test. |
| |
|
 |
Open Water Evaluation |
This is the most important and exciting part of the course. After all the training, knowledge development and skills development for candidates, the open water training serves as an evaluation that candidates understand their roles and responsiblities as a PADI Divemaster. |

There are about 18 PADI Dive Centres in Singapore and only a handful of them has the rating of a PADI 5 Star IDC - one of the highest rating given to a dive centre.
Read more about PADI Dive Centre Rating here.
Short of telling you why we are good, we will tell you what it takes to become a proper PADI 5 Star IDC Centre. Even though there are some PADI 5 Star Facilities which only meets minimal requirements, Orpheus Dive has superceded the minimal requirements, ensuring that our divers have a one stop dive centre and dive club.

Equipment Retail |
As a PADI 5 Star Dive Facility, a dive centre must provide in-house retail. Orpheus Dive has a well stocked inventory store covering major brands such as Scubapro, Zeagle, TUSA, Seac Sub, Beauchat, Trident, XS Scuba, Underwater Kinetics and Problue.
In Singapore, there ARE ONLY TWO dive centres that are into full retail business.
Note to diver : There are dive centres that make claims that they do have a retail business. However, they only have an online retail arm that purchase stocks when a customer makes an order. Unlike us, our well stocked store has everything that a diver needs. And because of the volume purchase, we are able to offer lower prices compared to the rest of the dive centre.
See our Absolute Campaign for more information |

 |
Equipment Servicing |
| |
Orpheus Dive Singapore is an Authorized Service Centre for Scubapro, Apollo, Zeagle and Seac Sub. We have a fulltime service technician that is solely in charge of helping divers service their equipment and handling their annual servicing needs. |
| |
|
 |
Equipment Rental |
| |
Orpheus Dive services and manages their own rental gear, unlike many independent dive centres and instructors who are dependent on others for their rental needs. All rental gears are serviced on a quarterly basis to ensure that they are kept in prime conditions.
