Overview : Diving Destinations of Mega Explorer

MV Mega Explorer Liveaboard was designed by divers to explore nearby destination such as Pulau TiomanPulau Dayang and AurKuantan Wreck and Anambas Islands (Indonesia). Come discover this destinations if you are unable to take leave on a Friday and depart from Puungol Marina on Friday and dive, and return on Sunday back at Puungol Marina.

Brief Overview Diving in Pulau Tioman

The marine life is abundant with big school of fishes. Turtles, rays and reef sharks are quite common. It is also possible to spot a Whale Shark if you are very lucky! There is a good variety of hard and soft coral. Most of the coral is in good shape and the reef is shallow and accessible by all divers. The topography of the dive sites is fascinating with swim-through between granite boulders, and small caves and canyons like the Fan Canyon spot. Pulau Tioman is also a good diving destination for underwater photography as the coral gardens are very colourful and you can easily find macro subjects such as varied nudibranchs like in Teluk Kador.

Brief Overview Diving in Pulau dayang

March to November is the perfect time to visit Dayang Island and dive on its shoreline experiencing the greatest dive ever. You can have a spectacular scuba diving, snorkeling and juggle trekking. Dayang Island is noted for diverse diving sites. Divers have plenty of choice to do, from just walking along the pearly sand beaches, swimming at the shoreline up to diving the deep crystal blue water. As you dive Dayang you will surely be bewilder by its doubtless striking beauty and astonishing marine resources.

Brief Overview Diving in anambas islands

Diving in Anambas, you’re likely to come across quite a varied mix of marine wildlife, including plenty of macro. Count on seeing various ray species, grouper, barracudas, moray eels, sharks and numerous reef-dwelling fish. Green and hawksbill turtles are likely to make an appearance, as well as, at times, dolphins.  Some dive go-to spots to include in your Anambas diving expedition are: Igara Wreck, Seven Skies, Pulau Tokong Malang Biru and Pulau Repong to name just a few. But nothing gets the excitement going more than diving spots that have yet to be dived ever. Given the countless Anambas islands that have yet to be visited, let alone dived, diving where no one has dived before is a real option here.

Brief Overview Diving in kuantan wreck

The Nichi Asu Maru or Kuantan Wreck is a Japanese coastal tanker carrying crude oil which sunk in the 1960’s. Situated in the South China Sea about 32 km off the east coast of Peninsula Malaysia and 12 nautical miles from Kuantan it is 80m long and 10m wide. It is covered in coral and encrusting sponge. The wreck lies on its port side, with the hull about 12m deep from the surface. The deepest part of the wreck is located at around 24m on a sandy bottom. Encounters are common with wreck residents giant marble rays, moray eels and barracudas. There are also large schools of friendly batfish and trevallys.

Diving onboard of mega explorer

Tulamben was a very anonymous fishing village in the dry lands of Karangasem for a very long period. Nowadays, it’s the busiest diving destination in Bali. Since the discovery of the USS Liberty as a diving destination back in the 1980’ies, Tulamben has been drawing bigger and bigger crowds, all wanting to take a glimp at the USS Liberty. Tulamben can get very crowded during high season and it’s easy to see why. But the bay and surrounding villages have a lot more to offer than just the USS Liberty and can provide days of awesome diving!
