The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course used to be a task-oriented which focuses on developing additional skills for newly certified divers from the basic entry dive course. In 2017, that old style of teaching has been overhauled and great improvements to the training syllabus were introduced. On top of the five required dives, a scuba diver undergoing the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course will be taught in greater detail on planning dives with a secondary objective, developing and applying situation awareness, management of task loading and displaying good diving habits.

No big class ratio, long tiring trips in uncomfortable vehicles only ending up in some inferior accommodations. All courses are conducted by our in-house PADI Instructors.

Prompt response: From initial enquiry to travel arrangement to PADI course details, Orpheus Dive has never failed to reply timely, even exceeding expectations!

Hassle-free & flexible to needs: Additional pool sessions requested for were arranged according to our schedules, all we had to do was to make payment. All other logistics arrangements were settled by Orpheus Dive, including the actual trip for PADI training and certification.

Patient & professional dive instructors: Had Lester, Hamish & Darwin train our group and they were very extremely professional in teaching the required skills. Special shout-out to Darwin who has been most patient, most encouraging, most kind to help learners overcome fears and anxiety. He even went the extra mile to take underwater photos and videos to serve as a motivational tool and of course, those were most helpful in the post-dive review sessions. Outstanding service through and through!

You teach with passion, you are very focus and analytic. You corrected my problems during the lesson. You took time to explain every single drills, you added new stuff to make the training fun. You go through again to make sure I understand. I think you are not just a instructor , but an amazing Teacher.

I want to say thank you to especially Michael & Darwin for tonight lesson.

Alan Fong

From zero to a certified advanced open water diver over one weekend, it would not be possible with the guidance from Michael and Nicholas, really, thank you very much for your help for this trip!

My sister and I have just recently completed our open water course with Orpheus. The class that we were in had a small ratio of 1 instructor to 3 students and our instructor, Nicholas Chow, was awesome! He was very patient throughout and ensured that each of us was able to carry out a specified task before moving onto next. I was also experiencing seasickness on the first day of the dive and Nicholas was quick to pass me ointments/seasick pills plus shared with me some very helpful tips on overcoming seasickness/equalization problems. Overall, I had a very enjoyable experience and felt safe throughout the course ( I would highly recommend Orpheus to everyone – thanks Orpheus!

I have a SSI Open Water Diver certification, can I still attend the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course?

Yes, it does not matter if your basic training certification is from SSI, SDI, NAUI, BSAC or CEMAS. You are more than welcome to join us for the weekend diving in Bali and complete your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification with us.

What is the difference between core dives and optional dives?

The core dives in your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is made up of the Deep Dive and Underwater Navigation. These two dives needs to be part of your training and the optional dives, you can suggest your interest to our instructors on the weekend and if we are not too busy, we can conduct those dives based on your interest.

My kid has completed his Junior Open Water Diver Course. Can he attend this level of training?

Yes, they can. This course is known as the PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver Course. It is identical to the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course except for the depth limit of the Deep Dive and also our own in-house rules for either a 1:1 or 1:2 (maximum) class ratio for children.

I have not been diving for a long time since I have completed my basic training. Can I still enrol into the course?

Nope, not an issue at all. As long as you complete a scuba refresher with us or with any other companies (a signed logged book is required as a proof of attendance), you are more than welcome to join us for the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course.

I am scare of Nyctophobia. Can I not do the night dive?

Yes, you can. Night dive is not one of the core dives. You are free to suggest to our instructors and replace the night dive with any other dive of your choice during your weekend diving in Bali. However, it is subjective to logistics and whether our instructors has the right equipment for that special optional dive.

I am already a certified diver. Can my friends attend their basic training while I attend this course?

Yes, of course. We can structure the course in such a way that you and your friends are attending the dives together (as long as it is without our in-house ratio), except for the deep dives, that your friends are not allowed to attend.
