Learn How To Teach Scuba Diving with one of the longest standing PADI IDC Centre

Have you ever wanted to witness the diversity of growth in people, and their joy in learning? Ever wondered how it would be to encourage lifelong learning for both others and yourself? And to experience the challenge of planning and doing interesting, exciting activities for people?

If you like people, have a passion for scuba diving and want an extraordinary life – become a PADI Instructor. Teaching scuba diving allows you to share your love of the aquatic world with others while doing what you enjoy – being in, around and under water.

Looking back 20 years ago as I first set foot as a PADI Divemaster, the reasons I tell people why I chose to become a dive professional back then and now are different. I used to think that becoming a PADI Divemaster was all about scuba diving, sharing the passion and having fun.

Whether you choose to just continue your education or start a whole new career, being a PADI Dive Instructor is a very gratifying experience.

Fast forward to this day, I realized that becoming a dive professional was an important milestone in my life. With this special set of skills, I was able to transform the lives of many. I have taken people who had so much fear in water and made them into a competent diver. I have given hope and careers to many people.

Diving has changed the lives of people, giving them more confidence, teaching them to appreciate Mother Nature and generally, becoming better people.

This is My Life, My PADI.

CHOOSING A TEAM FOR YOUR INSTRUCTOR TRAINING

The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC Program) is the beginning of a very rewarding adventure which is also the core process of learning the ropes of teaching scuba diving. During your PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) training, you will be taught how to apply your diving skills and diving knowledge onto actual skills of conducting class rooms, confined water training and open water dives of PADI Scuba Diving Courses using the most established system – The PADI System of Diver Education.

Most of our PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC Program) is going to be similar to any other dive centres in Asia or Singapore. The major difference is the experience of our Staff Instructors and our knowledge on the technical expects of scuba diving and also our intense knowledge on business of diving, which no other dive centres come close to us.

w

how do i know the experience of the idc team and course director?

Please sit down with them and share with them your concern. Ask them how long have they been teaching, their student counts or how many IDC they have conducted. That can be use as a gauge for their experience.

w

what other experiences should i be looking for?

Instructor Development Course does not end at you completing your IDC. An unwritten clause is that the PADI Course Director should play his role, helping you develop your career and experience. He should be a mentor to you, guiding you in every step.

w

i spoke to some instructors, they said they attended the course at home but registered under your dive centre

Yes, in 2015, there were a group of Instructors who attended a course at a private home and the PADI Staff Instructor has used our name on their registration form. This has been reported to PADI.

w

but how can i verify the information given to me?

You can actually. You can ask them for a copy of their training experience, which can be easily obtained from PADI. You can even know how many years of teaching experience they have based on the report.

w

my course director and his team does not have a dive centre

According to the Standards of PADI, all PADI Course DIretors and their PADI Staff Instructors can only perform their teaching duties in a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre (IDC Centre). They are not allowed to conduct courses in a private home.

w

do i need all my equipment to attend the padi instructor development course with your centre

We will prefer that you have your entire set of equipment. However, we can understand some candidates need to rent their equipment as they have not decided on their purchases.
