WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE

WHAT WILL YOU BE EXPECTING DURING THE COURSE

“Repeated exposure to temperate waters can cause minor discomfort to turn into hypothermia. By staying dry even in warm waters, your comfort level increases and you can maximize the length and number of your dives. After all, you are on vacation.” – PADI Master Instructor, Lester Kwok

Divers also have to be wary of hypothermia in warm environments. A phenomenon called “warm water hypothermia” can occur even in the tropics, especially during long dives and repetitive dives made without adequate re-warming between dives. In warm water hypothermia, long slow cooling can take place in water temperatures as warm as 25 to 27 degree Celsuis. Although warm water hypothermia is not easily recognized as its cold water counterpart, it definitely warrants attention.

Drysuit Diving is not reserved only for Ice Diving or less than 10 degree Celsuis. With breathable materials used on Drysuit, many Asian divers now have started diving with drysuits.

Orpheus Dive is the only PADI Dive Centre in Singapore that offers Drysuit Training right here.

Step 1 – Theory Lesson

There are two ways to prepare yourself for your first scuba diving theory lesson. You can pick up the manual from our dive centre and complete reading the manual prior to class. This is a pretty easy course material, introducing you to drysuit, the different type of drysuit and what you will be doing for the entire course.

During the class, we will be introducing you to your drysuit for the first time. All our PADI Instructors are drysuit users and as an Authourized Ursuit Drysuit Retailer, we will be able to answer most of your questions regarding drysuit usage.

Classroom session are conducted on any Monday from 6.30pm to 10pm at our dive school

Get Trained as a PADI Elite Diver

The Master Scuba Dive

Join the best of the best in recreational scuba diving and live the dive life as a PADI Master Scuba Diver. The Master Scuba Diver rating places you in an elite group of respected divers who have earned this rating through both significant experience and scuba training. Fewer than two percent of divers ever achieve this rating. When you flash your Master Scuba Diver card, people know that you’ve spent time underwater in a variety of environments and had your share of dive adventures.

The path starts with earning a PADI Open Water Diver certification, followed by PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Rescue Diver (or qualifying certifications). You also need to earn five PADI Specialty Diver certifications and have logged a minimum of 50 dives.

Step 3 – OCEAN DIVES

When you are done with your theory and pool training, it is time to decide where you would want to go to complete your 2 required training ocean dives but we often recommend that you join us on our 4 days 3 nights packages to Bali and do a minimum of 4 dives to get really use to the drysuit.

There are other opportunity for ocean dives as well.

Local Diving Course – Designed for divers who wants to obtain their certification without leaving the country. The visibility around Singapore water is not the best in Asia, with an average underwater visibility of about 3 to 4 metres. The 4 required ocean dives are conducted over two seperate weekends on Sunday mornings.

Liveaboard Diving from Singapore – For divers who want the comfort without taking off from work, another option we provide are liveaboard departing from Singapore. Whilst liveaboard is not as comfortable as our Bali trips, it is significantly much better than the budget Tioman trips as well. These trips are only available between April to October each year.
