Whether purpose-sunk as an artificial reef for scuba divers, or lost as the result of an accident, wrecks are fascinating windows to the past. Ships, airplanes and even cars are fascinating to explore and usually teem with aquatic life. Each wreck dive offers a chance for discovery, potentially unlocking a mystery or spying something others have missed. The PADI Wreck Diver Specialty course is popular because it offers rewarding adventures while observing responsible wreck diving practices.

There are many different types of wrecks, some of which are protected by laws that guard their historical and cultural significance. Your training starts by reviewing guidelines for researching and respecting wrecks. During four dives you’ll learn:

  • Safety considerations for navigating and exploring wrecks.
  • Surveying and mapping a wreck.
  • Using penetration lines and reels to guide exploration.
  • Techniques to avoid kicking up silt or disturbing the wreck and its inhabitants.

The Master Scuba Diver

Join the best of the best in recreational scuba diving and live the dive life as a PADI Master Scuba Diver. The Master Scuba Diver rating places you in an elite group of respected divers who have earned this rating through both significant experience and scuba training. Fewer than two percent of divers ever achieve this rating. When you flash your Master Scuba Diver card, people know that you’ve spent time underwater in a variety of environments and had your share of dive adventures.

The path starts with earning a PADI Open Water Diver certification, followed by PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Rescue Diver (or qualifying certifications). You also need to earn five PADI Specialty Diver certifications and have logged a minimum of 50 dives.

Class Size

At Orpheus Dive, we never believe in mass classes with instructor to student ratio at 1:8. We love to keep our classes small, and most of the time, it is 1:3 for Bali packages, because we feel that with small classes, our instructors are able to spend more time with students helping them invest in better dive gear and getting their buoyancy right from the start.

Trip Planning

Proper rest in a good environment is one of the key factors why our divers learn more from us. Divers should be pampered and given a choice to have better accommodation in a relax and chill villa rather than a cramp dirty wooden chalet with toilets that are filthy and “rustic”.

Destination Planning

Unlike most dive trips that involves tiring long land transfers in small vehicles and night boat rides to diving destination, resulting in lack of rest for our divers, we prefer to have more luxurious diving destinations and allow divers to have ample rest before their first dive, so divers stay fresh for their classes.

Proper Licenses

It is required by Singapore law that anyone or companies providing scuba diving activities overseas to have a valid and renewed license from Singapore Tourism Board. This is to ensure that divers are protected in any events of cancellation and bankruptcy of the dive companies. Yet many dive companies have no concern for this and carry on doing business without the required license.

PADI is the world’s leading scuba diver training organization. With more than 6300 PADI Dive Centers and Resorts, and more than 136,000 individual PADI Professionals who have issued more than 24 million certifications around the world

Credentialed instructional designers use state-of-the-art technology and learning theories to create PADI materials with you, the student diver, in mind. Independent study materials, available in a variety of media – online programs, tablet-based apps, manuals, workbooks, multimedia discs, etc. – allow you to learn in a way that works for you. Instructional support materials allow your PADI Instructor to further explain important concepts and verify understanding.

One of the best ways to become an active diver is to experience new and exciting adventures. That, in essence, is what the PADI Master Scuba Diver program is about.By taking part in the broad range of activities possible with the PADI Master Scuba Diver program, you can explore new dive sites, experience new conditions, meet other divers and even try out different types of equipment and specialty gear. Most importantly, you can stay active, gain confidence and earn the respect of other divers around you. Upon completion of the challenge you will have the highest non-professional PADI rating in recreational diving.
