COVID POST SCUBA DIVING

Given the current situation since March 2020, we thank everyone for supporting us by choosing us to be their partner to train them. We have experimented with different ways of teaching and also finding new ways to ensure appropriate social distancing and protocols are in place for the Post-COVID Diving Activities.

We are certain that there are better ways of living our lives normally as long as precautions are taken. With this lockdown (Circuit Breaker) in 2020, we really have no idea how long this will last. But it does not mean we have to be affected. Live can still go on if we take additional precautions.

So we decided to spearhead our own initiative and programs, each specially designed for divers based on our situation.

COVID AND SCUBA DIVING – SINGAPORE

On 20th March 2020, Singapore decided the best way to contain the introduction of COVID is to advise people not to travel unless absolutely necessary. Very soon, most Asian countries followed this “lockdown” procedures and home quarantine procedures. It took us a months to sit down and look at the situation carefully, and figure out how dive business can survive this period of hardship, without risking divers, without risking our own health and most importantly, looking after one thing that all of us should be looking at, that scuba diving courses should be customer and student-centric and NOT solely Profits and Loss Driven.

RECOMMENDED COURSES – JUNE 2020 TO DECEMBER 2020

For the period of June 2020 to December 2020, we will be conducting only the following courses. And all the dives will be conducted locally in Singapore only. We will not be conducting any courses in Malaysia nor Indonesia for the time period, till we are able to have a feel and confirmation of what is happening around the world.

COVID SINGAPORE PERIOD

FEB TO DEC 2020

NOTICE

phase 2 reopening

COVID has changed and transformed many businesses, and scuba diving industry is not exempted. We have implemented certain protocols to ensure the safety of our divers and staffs during this period of time.

If there’s anything we have missed out that makes you uncomfortable, do inform us and we will look at the possibility of implementing them in our day to day operations.

Do I need to check in and out of your premises?

All businesses and services that are in operation must institute SafeEntry for their employees, associates and vendors. The barcode is right outside our door and you are required to check-in and out, including taking of temperature.

How can I ensure that I will not get COVID-19 from your facility?

While we cannot fully guarantee this, we have taken necessary preventive measures, which include and not limited to creating and enforcing strict disinfection procedures, social distancing in store, and most importantly, ensuring all visitors completing health screening checks. Clients with signs or symptoms will not be allowed to participate in any diving or related activities.

Is it safe to attend classes in your facilities and shop right now?

For any courses with an online learning option, all students will have to opt for that. We are slowly implementing more and more online learning options for our divers. However, there are some courses that require practice. Social distancing for such courses will be implemented.

What are the disinfection operations at your dive shop?

Disinfection operations have been added to our existing standard operating procedures, as in accordance with local recommendations. However, do take note, due to the high percentage of oxygen stored in our facilities, we are not allowed to use any form of alcohol-based hand sanitizers and disinfectants.

Can I try out mask and other equipment in your store right now?

Any mask or other equipment that has been handled by clients will either be taken off the rack for disinfection or stored in a secure area for a minimum of 9 days to allow the virus to die naturally before placing it back in retail.

Are social distancing implemented in your shop?

Yes, it is. The 1 meter distancing is compulsory in our retail shop. There are also areas that have been marked with an X to prevent overcrowding in the retail shop. At this moment, we only allow 6 customers in our store at any one time.

What if I am not feeling well on the day of diving activities?

It takes only one infected person to spread the virus. If you have any indication of being unwell, please stay home or speak to a physician. We will allow free rescheduling of your classes. However, if you are not well prior to the trip, cancellation fees might be implemented as we do not own the boat operations to Pulau Hantu.

Why are there certain areas in your shop that is closed?

Some areas such as changing rooms, that can carry a heightened risk of contamination, has been closed for now. The common area such as the bathroom is constantly disinfected regularly. The smell might irritate some guests at this moment.

How are your rental equipment being disinfected after rented out?

All scuba rental equipment at this moment of time will be treated with hot water and soap for cleaning after each use. It is recommended that divers who are doing scuba diving course, to have your own personal scuba diving mask, snorkel and mouthpiece for the rental regulator.

Is social distancing applicable on the trip to Pulau Hantu

Yes, proper social distancing is applicable on the boat itself. The information can be found on the respective page on the courses.
